Qi Gong is …

• pronounced "Chee Gong"
• an ancient Chinese form of exercise, a "moving meditation"
• the collective name for such forms as T'ai Chi (Taijiquan)
• an easy way to cultivate your life energy and improve your health ("Qi" = energy, "Gong" = cultivation)
• a martial art developing and disciplining body, mind and spirit
• a gentle, transformative practice offering greater balance, flexibility, strength and confidence
• a fun way to stay fit and juicy!
Qi Gong can help:
• reduce stress
• relax the “monkey mind”
• enhance mental focus
• sharpen memory
• improve balance
• increase flexibility in joints, especially knees, ankles and hips
• lower blood pressure
• improve lung capacity
• heighten immune system function
• promote healthy digestion
• stabilize blood sugar
• strengthen muscles and bones
• rejuvenate the body and skin
And just so you know, regular practice of Qi Gong can help prevent and treat illness.

I believe in "open source" Qi Gong

For centuries, Oriental masters have zealously guarded the pattern of moves - and the philosophy behind them - that make up a particular form of Qi Gong. Perhaps the most familiar form is Taiji (or T'ai Chi). There are several versions of Taiji stemming from different lineages, each claiming to be the first and most ancient form.
And there are hundreds of forms of Qi Gong.
So you see, that’s a lot of material to keep guarded.
In the past, disciples were willing to spend their lives living in caves and learning at the feet of a Qi Gong master. But today there are fewer and fewer people willing to do that.
When the old masters began recognizing that the ancient wisdom could die out, they sent adept disciples to the West to teach. Or … to teach a few things, always holding back some nuggets of esoteric wisdom until their students proved dedicated or worthy enough to enter the inner circle.
Fine. There’s a place for that.
But there is also a need for basic energy cultivation, basic Qi Gong, among people enmeshed in Western culture.
Qi Gong can raise your energy vibration. This has profound emotional, mental and spiritual benefits.
You can raise your energy higher than the negativity, anger and even hate that seem to be permeating the media and tearing communities apart.
You can counteract this negative energy with hopefulness, serenity, even joy - with the help of Qi Gong.
And when you live in that higher vibration, that’s what’s going out on the invisible energy airwaves surrounding you. That’s what people feel when they are near you. It’s an opportunity to raise the vibration of this entire planet, one person at a time.
What a wonderful challenge!
Why would we want to keep knowledge of such life-changing energy under wraps?
That’s why I believe Qi Gong should be available to everyone, passed person to person by everyone who has learned even one basic Qi Gong form. It could save another person’s life.
And those Qi Gong masters who insist on hoarding arcane wisdom? I believe new disciples will find them. Especially once they’ve had a taste of Qi Gong from the masses and want more.

Some masters in old schools withheld their "secrets" in fear that their students would surpass them. With such selfishness, it is no wonder that their lineages have died out. What do you, as the elder, have to fear by teaching all you know?
The child can never "catch up" to you. But if you teach without holding back, then the child may someday extend what you have passed on.
It is in the selflessness of nurturing that the nurturer is in turn nurtured.
